Franco turned two years on 23 April 2010. The birthday party theme was "Noah". Franco is very much into animals. Dorette and Gert made lots of homemade goodies and Ouma Elna and I also pitched the day before and on the birthday to help. Great fun!(Janita was barely two months, so the L's still had their hands full!)

Opening of gifts: Franco received three sets of tools! Anyone who knows him, knows that he loves to work. These tools have since been put to good use. Franco immediately loved his new hat and wore it the rest of the day!.

The big attraction of the day: The L's provided lots of easy cleaning sidewalk chalk and the children loved having their outlines drawn on the paving. Thelwyn had to draw Martelize over and over. Older children became very creative, while the little ones scribbled away. (Big fun for Franco was to hose it all down after the party.)

Ons was gelukkig om sulke spesiale Oumas (en tannie Thelwyn!) te he om te help - Janita was ten tye van die partytjie nog nie vol 6 weke oud nie, maar ons kon darem nie vir Ouboet afskeep en NIE 'n partytjie he nie. :-)

Baie geluk met Franco se 2de verjaarsdag. Die tyd vlieg darem verskriklik en hy het so groot geword. Lekker om jou weer terug te he Miekie en nou's ek nuuskierig oor die geheime projek.

Dis lekker om weer terug te wees - simpel om so agter te raak met dagboek hou - en natuurlik vergeet ek dan om ander blogs te lees... of my emails. Baie dom. Die projek... ek skryf my geskiedenis- nie vir publiseer nie, sommer net vir die lekker van onthou en vir ingeval die kleinkinders eendag wil weet hoe dit was toe Ouma klein was. Dit was nogal HEEL anders!

I can really recommend the chalk! It was cheap, great fun and easy to clean, and it is much easier to draw a child's outline on paving than on glued together sheets of paper!

Baie pragtige foto verhaal van die kleinkinders en hulle belangrike mylmale. Kannie glo klein Franco is regtig al twee nie en sien uit om Juanita se ontwikkeling te sien. Martelize is die mooiste ou dingetjie :-)
Baie geluk met Franco se 2de verjaarsdag....Hulle word so gou groot, maar dit is lekker om mens se kind/kleinkind te sien ontwikkel.

Dankie vir die aanmoediging. Dinge het die afgelope 6 dekades nogals baie verander en ek wil dit graag onthou en vir my nageslag vertel... kleintyd het my ma bv. elke tweededag vleis bestel wat die slaghuis afgelewer het - fiets met 'n mandjie - daar was destyds nog nie supermarkte of vrieskaste nie!
