Some other pictures of the past week

I haven't done much swimming this season and time is running out before the big event! However, I swam 1/2 mile on Saturday and just want to share the wonderful dam where I train, when I do get around it to actually train! How lucky can a girl get? The speck in the water is me. The dam is on Goodland, my brother in law, Gene's, game farm.

Just to prove it's really me in the water. I can only swim breaststroke, so I'm slow, but what the heck!

On my way back again to the other side. I swim 16 times to and fro - a little more than 100 m each time.
Thank you Jesus for the privilege to be able to swim and especially to be able to swim in this beautiful dam and to see your clouds, and the sun shining on the water and the wild animals and the birds and...

Sunday after church: Martelize in a good mood despite a slight cold.

Look at my pretty shoes - they were my Aunt Elmarie's once upon a time. (Today was the first day cool enough to wear shoes in a long time.)

Gert and Dorette went househunting this week and I looked after Franco on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday was chaotic with me "losing" their house keys: Franco and I had to rush in rush hour traffic to Dorette's office to get her keys and he wasn't impressed at all. Sorry Franco! (I later found the keys so fortunately the L's are not in danger of a stranger picking them up.) On Wednesday everything went fine, however. We had great fun after I had fetched him from his school. He had a cold, but that didn't dampen his spirits.

He knows what a cell phone is about...! For now he can play with mine. So many of his toys have lights and music - I hope they make baby cell phones with lights and music too!

I raided his mother's Tupperware and found nesting bowls. He was very intrigued with them and played with them for a long time. He does not fit them into each other of own accord yet, but he is very interested. They make great toys to bang together. His new party trick is to clap hands!
Thank you Jesus for my good as gold grandchildren. They are such a blessing!

The dam, it is such a beautiful place. But then I do not need to tell you that. It seems a place where a person can exhale and let Peace settle on you.
I can't even swim for 50m.

I think it is awesomet that you swim. What a beautiful place to do that. So, nothing bites you in that water??? I think I would be a little nervous. :)

PS Thank you for the very sincerely sweet comment you left this morning.

It's great that you are training by swimming and such (and in such a pretty place, too.)! You inspire me to exercise more.
Your grandchildren are just precious--I can tell you enjoy them!

Ek lief julle. So bly alles gaan weer 'n bietjie beter! Sterkte met al die huisplanne!

Sandra
Dis die stil wat die swem daar so besonders maak - baie tyd om met die Here te praat.

Mariki
Dankie Here vir antibiotika!

Beth
Thanks for the visit. The dam where I train is very clean - I can see my feet under the water as I step in, but then of course I make the water all murky. There is fish, but they don't come near. No crocodiles or such! ha, ha. The dam where I am going to swim is much, much bigger of course and not nearly as clean - it smells of oil of the boats, but it doesn't really bother me.

Kelly
Glad I inspire you, but I am really no role model. Every year, I tell myself that next year I'm going to be really fit, but each year I practice less and less! I convince myself that swimming will be easier this year, seeing that I have gained 8 kg since my previous Midmarmile!

Retha
Ek kuier graag - ek is net so dof dat ek nie gesien het, jy het meer as een blog nie! Duh! Jy kan 'n mens mos maar uitnooi. Ek dink nie dis voorbarig nie!

Desire

Muriel
Dankie vir die goeie wense. Dit het gehelp!
