The 2 cousins together on the farm

On Friday Thelwyn came with Martelize and Gert and Dorette with Franco. Hendrik stayed in Pretoria because he had to work on Saturday. (Frans is in Namibia at the moment - that is why Thelwyn came on her own.) It is the first time we had both grandchildren here together, and a very special occassion for us.
Franco's bib said: Dribble happens. Get over it. I think it will become a family phrase. When lying on his tummy (or on his back), he propels himself forward as long as he can push his feet against your hands. His arms do not co-operate yet - i.e. not a real leopard crawl yet, but he is getting there! He has started to roll over. He is a woeliekous (wriggly worm) and a babblekous (chatterbox), but not really a slaapkous (sleepy head). I did not realise we use the word kous (sock) so ofter to describe a child! Franco we love your new tricks! (He turned 4 months yesterday.)
Martelize is now 3 1/2 weeks old. She is as good as gold: Thelwyn breastfeeds her every four hours and Friday night she slept from 10:00 till 5:00! She battles with the odd cramps, but generally she is happy and content.
My sister Anne was here on Saturday and popped in again today. It was so good to have her.
One of the younger horses got a bad cut and Thelwyn had to go up to the stables with the vet this morning. I had the pleasure to look after Martelize while she was wide awake and very content. It was a warm day, but her hands were chilly, so I dolled her up in a tiny matinee jacket that Thelwyn herself wore when she was one week old. Martelize then lay on her blanket and kicked to her heart's content and stared at her hands, the trees outside the window, a black and red toy.... I do not know what she sees, but it was so special to watch her little face.
Every phase is so special.
Thank you God for our adorable grandbabies. Please bless them always!

It is so cute to see the differences in the cousins' personalities emerge.
